Federer easy win in Basel first round

Federer started his campaign yesterday in Basel by easing past Aleksandr Dolgopolov 6-4 5-2 (ret).  This is considered to be the most special tournament for Roger since this is his hometown and he was actually a ball boy for some of the tennis greats here before.

It was a one sided contest after all before Aleksandr sprained his right ankle diving for a drop shot by Roger serving for the match.  I would have suggested to finish the match even though he cannot compete anymore.  Aleksandr should have just let Roger serve out 3 aces to at least finish the match.

Roger have won this tournament for 3 consecutive years before losing to Djokovic in the finals last year.  It would be great to get his revenge this year and get a comfortable lead in the ATP rankings as well.
