She is considered to be one of the most solid performers in the women's circuit without winning a grand slam title. Her resume includes 16 WTA titles and 2 grand slam finals appearances and got into the top 5 rankings in 2003.
Unlike the men's side where the top 4 players have been consistently staying atop, women's tennis have been criticized for the past few years for not having a true dominant player. This is especially the case when Justin Henin, the former no. 1 player retired. There were 4 different players who took the no. 1 rankings within the next 4 months which clearly showed the inconsistency of the women's game. Now that Elena have left the circuit, it will be another blow to women's tennis.
She looks pretty hot though in this photo which would have made it to my top 4 tennis beauties. However, she seem to look different whenever she's playing. Sorry Elena.
