Federer sweep past Stepanek in Basel

Roger has been showing his old self for the past week in Basel brushing aside each challenger that come his way with ease.  The latest casualty was the flambuoyant Radek Stepanek which he easily dispatched 6-3 6-2 to barged into a mega showdown in the semi-finals with Andy Roddick.

Roddick also got his old groove to dismantle the power hitter David Nalbandian 6-4 6-4 to arrange a semi-final clash with our top seed.  This will be a good opportunity for Andy to redeem himself and get his revenge from 2009 Wimbledon finals where he lost in five closely fought sets.

While Roger and Andy slug it out, the other half will feature Novak Djokovic againsts lowly seed Victor Troicki.  Novak should have an easy win if everything works as expected and will get his second consecutive finals appearance here in Basel.  I really hope it will be a ND vs RF part 2 this year.
